A.P. government committed to social equity and welfare, says Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday reiterated that the coalition government is firmly committed to achieving social equity and uplifting weaker sections, stating that reducing economic disparities remains its top priority.

Speaking in the Assembly during discussions on welfare allocations in the State Budget, he said the government is pursuing social empowerment by ensuring proportional representation for weaker sections in accordance with their population.

Despite financial challenges, the government has implemented the ‘Super Six’ promises while expanding welfare initiatives for all communities, he said.

Mr. Naidu said targeted schemes are being implemented for auto drivers, fishermen and handloom workers, including free electricity for weavers.

Technology is being used to streamline the distribution of essential commodities through fair price shops and to ensure timely delivery of welfare benefits.

He stated that budgetary allocations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and minorities have been enhanced compared to previous years, with a commitment that funds will be spent exclusively for their welfare.

Under the “Swarna Andhra 2047” vision, the government aims to increase per capita income from ₹3 lakh to ₹54 lakh by 2047.

Highlighting focus on future generations, the Chief Minister said anganwadi centres, primary schools and residential institutions are being strengthened, alongside improvements in nutrition and healthcare. To address inequality, the government has introduced the P4 (Public-Private-People Partnership) model, under which one lakh mentors are supporting 10 lakh “Bangaru Kutumbams.”

He also announced steps to restore BC reservations to 34 per cent, review GO No. 3, and introduce a Family Benefit Card and ‘Sanjeevani’ initiative, reaffirming his government’s commitment to inclusive growth and social justice.
