A 19-year-old boy, who was on his way to deliver food to his ailing father, was killed after a truck allegedly driven on the wrong side collided with his two-wheeler near Dhananayakanahalli Main Road in Jnanabharathi on Saturday. The victim has been identified as Muniyappa, a resident of Dhananayakanahalli. He was working at an automobile showroom in Kengeri. According to the police, the accident occurred around 9.45 p.m. when Muniyappa was heading to a hospital to deliver food to his father, who was undergoing treatment. A truck, allegedly driven at high speed in the wrong direction on a one-way road, collided head-on with his two-wheeler. Muniyappa sustained severe head injuries in the impact. Passers-by rushed him to hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries later. The truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot. The Jnanabharathi Traffic Police have registered a case and launched a probe to nab the fleeing driver.
