JSS STU Vice-Chancellor A.N. Santosh Kumar told reporters on Monday that the convocation will be presided over by Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Chancellor of JSS STU, who will confer the degrees on the graduating students. The convocation address will be delivered by B.M. Jayeshankar, chairman and managing director of Adarsh Group, Bengaluru, and an alumnus of the institution. C.G. The highest annual package offered was ₹44 lakh, while the average package stood at ₹8 lakh per annum. Dr. Kumar said a BE programme in Computer Science Engineering for specially-abled students has been introduced. He added that all engineering departments have incorporated Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the first semester to keep pace with emerging technologies. AI laboratories are being set up across departments, and students will receive specialised skill training with a focus on cybersecurity. The university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vigyan Labs in the AI domain. It has also entered into MoUs with leading organisations to provide students with real-world exposure and industry-aligned skills. These include Bajaj Engineering Skills Training, Pune, for a Centre of Excellence in Mechanical and Electronics; Indian Space Research Organisation; and Fuji Electric for a Centre of Excellence in Electrical and Electronics. These collaborations are expected to open avenues for curriculum development, internships, research initiatives, skill development programmes, and career opportunities in core engineering, semiconductor technology, AI, and other emerging domains, ensuring that students graduate industry-ready and future-focused, he explained. Responding to a query, Dr. Kumar said AI will not take away jobs from those willing to learn and adapt. On the contrary, it will improve employment opportunities in areas that previously had limited scope. Dr. Dhanaraj, Dr. Nanjundaswamy, and principal Nataraj were present.
