The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has alleged that Andhra Pradesh has witnessed 20 months of extravagant and exploitative governance under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, accusing him of misusing public resources.

Addressing the media at the party office at Tadepalli near here on Monday, YSRCP State spokesperson Karumuri Venkata Reddy claimed that the Tirumala laddu issue was politicised for electoral advantage, but ‘eventually backfired’.

He alleged that through Heritage Finlease, the Chief Minister invested in VSR Ventures, while the State government is now bearing substantial aviation expenses that indirectly benefit associated entities.

“Nearly ₹54 crore is being spent annually on flight-related expenses alone, raising serious concerns about financial propriety,” said Mr. Venkata Reddy.

He sought clarification on the recent procurement of a helicopter and leasing arrangements, alleging that while a chopper was procured at a cost of ₹172 crore, an additional ₹3 crore per month is reportedly being paid as rental.

Demanding a comprehensive and independent inquiry into the helicopter purchase, leasing agreements, and rising aviation expenditures, the YSRCP leader asserted that the people of Andhra Pradesh deserve transparency and accountability in the utilisation of public funds.
