The Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association (HRDA) has condemned the alleged physical assault and manhandling of senior paediatrician Dr. E. Arjun within the premises of the Rajendranagar Police Station in Hyderabad on February 21. In a statement issued on Monday (February 23), the association said Dr. Arjun, the managing director of Apoorva Hospital, had gone to the police station out of professional concern for a fellow paediatrician. “While present inside the station, he was allegedly surrounded by a group of unknown individuals, physically assaulted, verbally abused and publicly humiliated,” they said. The doctors’ body has demanded strict legal action against the perpetrators.
