Mukul Roy, one of the founding members of Trinamool Congress, passed away in the early hours of February 23, 2026. He was 71 years old. Roy was a trusted aide of Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee. He was key to the party’s organisation and served as a link between the party and the government.
