Mummudivaram MLA Datla Subbaraju handing over fishing boat engines to a fisherman of Hope island at Chollangi village in Kakinada district. | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENT Government Whip and Mummudivaram MLA Datla Subbaraju on Saturday (January 03, 2026) handed over fishing boat engines to eight fisherfolk families of Hope island near the Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary of Kakinada district. The boats engines have been provided under the Prime Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana, an initiative of the Blue Revolution. Addressing the fisherfolk at Chollangi village, Mr. Subbaraju assured them that all the inhabitants of the Hope island would be provided fishing boat engines. Kakinada District Fisheries Officer V. Krishna Rao announced that an aqua park has been proposed in Chollangi village to promote the marine fish along the Kakinada coast.
