The Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) arrested two persons on charges of possessing Methamphetamine and ganja in Vanagaram on Saturday. Following a tip off, an Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) team mounted surveillance on the service road in Vanagaram, a senior official said. The team intercepted two cars and found methamphetamine on searching the vehicles. The occupants, Dinesh, alias Bablu of Vyasarpadi, and McCallan Trevor, of Korattur, were questioned. The police seized 1.3 kg of ganja, 100 gm of high grade cannabis, 18 gm of methamphetamine from them. The police said Dinesh owned a shop dealing in old goods, while McCallan Trevor ran a two-wheeler mechanic shop. The accused had purchased the drugs from Thailand through a courier, the police said.
