The suspicious death of Hyderabad-based writer and YouTuber Boggula Srinivas in Kusumanchi mandal on February 14, initially believed to be a road accident, has now been revealed as a supari killing following the arrest of a friend-turned-foe and three hired assailants.

Srinivas, 49, who originally hailed from Nandyal district in Andhra Pradesh, was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside a car in Palair reservoir in Kusumanchi mandal over a week ago.

A detailed investigation by the local police unravelled the gory murder of Srinivas due to a financial dispute.

The police have arrested the main accused, Mekala Venumadhav Reddy, a Hyderabad-based sub-contractor in an infrastructure project, and three other accused – Pokala Venkateshwara Rao, Sk. Abdul Hafeez and Mohammad Azmath Ali of Aswaraopet.

According to the police, Srinivas and Venumadhav Reddy were embroiled in a financial dispute related to a ‘GST fraud’.

The main accused allegedly hired the three supari (contract) killers who murdered Srinivas before dumping his body with the car in Palair reservoir to project it as a road accident death.

All the four accused have been remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation is underway.
