The centenary celebrations of the Sri Polipalli Pydithalli Ammavari temple was conducted as a State festival on Sunday in Rajamof Vizianagaram district. The temple constructed in 1926 on the Rajam-Ramabhadrapuram route, drew a large number of pilgrims on the special day. Local Rajam MLA Kondru Muralimohan offered pattuvastram to the presiding deity on behalf of the State government. Minister for MSME Kondapalli Srinivas, Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu, Bobbili MLA Baby Nayana, MLC Kavali Greeshma and others offered prayers in the temple. TDP senior leader and member of the festival committee Kondru Jagadish coordinated the arrangements. The police department reviewed security arrangements in and around the temple premises. The three-day festival is expected to draw larger number of devotees on Monday and Tuesday.
