The Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) on Saturday, February 21, raided the clinic of an unqualified practitioner in Shayampet in Hanumakonda district and seized medicines that were illegally stocked for sale.

The clinic was being run by Racharla Prabhakar. During the inspection, officials detected 30 varieties of medicines, including physicians’ samples, institutional supply drugs, antibiotics, steroids and habit-forming medicines such as Tramadol injections. The seized stock was valued at approximately ₹35,000, according to the DCA.

Officials said several higher-generation antibiotics and steroids were found at the clinic. The sale and use of such medicines by unqualified persons could pose serious risk to public health. Samples of the seized medicines have been sent for analysis, and further investigation is underway.
