The Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre launched robotic-assisted technology for complex surgeries. According to a press release, V.R. Venkataachalam, Chancellor of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research inaugurated the “Intuitive Da Vinci Xi – Advanced Robotic Surgical System” that consists of a surgeon console, a patient-side cart with three to four robotic arms and a 3DHD vision system. It replicates the surgeon’s hand movements in real-time from a console. It is used for conditions including prostatectomies, hysterectomies, colorectal surgery, and cardiothoracic procedures. Among others, Samyuktha Venkataachalam, trustee, Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust, and Uma Sekar, Vice Chancellor of SRIHER, were present.
