There is a plethora of challenges for motorists to tackle on the roads without a mound of manhole entering the grim-framed picture.

On the section of Tambaram Velachery Main Road that meets Semmozhi Salai in Medavakkam, motorists have to deal with this additional challenge: a manhole that is too high for their safety.

Poor lighting on this section of Tambaram Velachery Main Road magnifies the danger from this monstrously elevated manhole. The traffic police personnel regulating this section try to defuse the threat in their own jugaad way, making use of a prop at their disposal. They place a barricade on the manhole to warn motorists about its presence.
