A State-level Archery and Ball Badminton tournament began in Khammam on Friday as part of the second edition of the Chief Minister’s Cup. The four-day tournament is being organised under the aegis of the District Sports Authority at Sardar Patel Stadium in the town. Khammam Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt inaugurated the sports meet. As many as 230 players from various parts of the State are participating in the tournament. Scores of archery enthusiasts thronged the stadium to watch the archers from across the State in action. The combined Khammam district produced several talented archers, who excelled in the State and national level archery championships in the past. Archery Association district president S. Sarangapani, secretary Putta Shankaraiah and others were present.
