Career guidance for students at Teresian College

As part of its week-long Science Week celebrations, Teresian College is placing special emphasis on career guidance to help students make informed academic and professional choices.

A dedicated Career Guidance and Counselling Programme will be held on February 24, in collaboration with Rotary Central Mysore in Teresian College at Ave Maria Golden Jubilee Auditorium at 9.30 a.m. The initiative aims to create awareness about emerging career opportunities, skill requirements, and higher education pathways, particularly in specialised and scientific fields.

J.B. Aravind, associate professor and coordinator of forensic science at the Department of Forensic Medicine, JSS Medical College, will address students as the chief speaker. He is expected to provide insights into career prospects in forensic science, interdisciplinary research, and the growing demand for skilled professionals in investigative and medical sciences.

The programme will also feature expert sessions by Pradeep Kumar, forensic expert and researcher at the Karnataka Police Academy, who will speak on practical career avenues in forensic investigation and law enforcement. Lancy D’Souza, professor and the head of the department of Psychology at Maharaja’s College, will guide students on aptitude assessment, goal setting, and decision-making strategies, a press release said.
