According to the executive engineer of the PWD, the survey will commence at 6 a.m. on February 26 and continue uninterrupted until 6 a.m. on February 28. As part of the exercise, survey centres equipped with cameras will be set up along the designated roads to record vehicle movement. Signboards will be installed at these locations, cautioning motorists about the presence of traffic survey centres and advising them to drive slowly. Officials said that the data collected through the survey will help the government assess traffic intensity on various stretches, determine appropriate road width, plan for upgradation of roads, and improve overall road conditions. The department has appealed to motorists and the public to cooperate by driving slowly near the survey centres and ensuring the smooth conduct of the survey.
