Education, public health, environment, water management, social welfare, women development, youth welfare, sports, agriculture and rural development, and disaster management were among the topics discussed for further developments at a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) conclave convened by the district administration in Tiruppur on Saturday (February 21, 2026). District Collector Manish Narnaware, who chaired the Conclave involving participation of 18 industries and public welfare organisations, also discussed about maintenance of government buildings, and providing economical support to underprivileged and talented students to pursue higher education. Identifying school dropouts and re-engaging them in their education, supporting children, solving their psychological problems, and bringing about behaviour change and personality development ought to be prioritised, the Collector emphasised. The industries were asked to support initiatives for scaling up building infrastructure of government hospitals and primary health centres, installing modern diagnostic equipment, providing medical assistance for the poor and needy, improving infrastructure in schools, and providing road connectivity to tribal settlements. During an interaction with the participants on environment, the Collector stressed on renovation of lakes and ponds and other waterbodies, addressing the issue of depleting ground water, implementing rainwater harvesting projects and planting trees. “There was a need for providing financial support to the homes run by the Department of Social Welfare and Women Development for housing orphans, elderly and disabled people, and to improve livelihood of women through necessary skill development for self-employment,” he said. Speakers at the Conclave acknowledged that CSR initiatives must also incorporate provision for disseminating the importance of modern agricultural techniques and organic farming, and extending support to the authorities for managing disaster management. The Conclave also reached out to the public with a request for supporting these tasks by making their contributions to the Tiruppur District Welfare Society.
