The Kerala High Court has stayed an alleged move by the State government to regularise the employment of a section of temporary employees who have put in over 10 years of service. This follows an alleged delay by the government in submitting an affidavit on the matter, despite repeated reminders. Petitions had been filed before the court, challenging an order issued a month ago to regularise the employment of staff who had been posted for honorarium or on daily wages in many departments, over 10 years ago. The petitioners cited that this was against a High Court order in this regard passed in 2025, that was issued based on norms issued by the Supreme Court. They alleged that the government was trying to regularise a section of temporary employees who had been working in various capacities for over 10 years in multiple departments. The matter has been posted for hearing on March 2.
