Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate the newly-built Netaji Subash Chandra Bose flyover at Goripalayam junction on Saturday (February 21). The bridge has come up at a cost of ₹213 crore.

While the work on the main arm connecting Tamukkam junction with Nelpettai, along with a bridge across Vaigai river, has been completed, the remaining work of the separate arm towards Palam Station Road in Sellur from Goripalayam junction is expected to be completed by April.

The Chief Minister would arrive at Madurai airport in the morning. He would first inaugurate the skill development centre of Pinnacle Infotech at IT Park in Nagamalai Pudukottai. He would also inaugurate a computer laboratory at Meenakshi Government Arts and Science College for Women. Later, he would open the renovated Vandiyur tank.

Talking to reporters, Minister for Registration P. Moorthi said the DMK president would chair a meeting with party booth-level agents and digital agents and booth committee members from 58 Assembly constituencies in 10 southern districts.

Over one lakh partymen would participate in the meeting being held ahead of the Assembly election. Only those with QR-code based identity cards would be allowed into the venue, he added.

Senior party functionaries and Ministers would also participate. The CM would leave for Chennai after chairing a meeting on ‘Remembering Bapuji and Brothers,’ coordinated by Makkal Neethi Maiyam founder Kamal Haasan at Gandhi Memorial Museum.

Leaders of Secular Progressive Alliance parties would also take part.
