Former Member of the Postal Service Board and former Chairman of the Investment Board Uday Bala Krishnan has said that a compassionate teacher endowed with knowledge and wisdom serves as a lighthouse guiding students of every age and stage in the era of Artificial Intelligence.

Delivering a lecture on The Challenge and Delight of Teaching the Young at a programme organised by the Centre for Policy Studies and the Visakhapatnam Public Library Society, Dr. Krishnan observed that even the faint spark of brilliance in a seemingly dull student can be recognised only by a passionate and empathetic teacher and not by Artificial Intelligence.

He noted that when the scientific imagination of young minds is nurtured with care and insight by broad minded teachers, it can create abundant job opportunities and open new possibilities. The lecture highlighted the irreplaceable role of human empathy, encouragement and vision in education at a time when classrooms are increasingly influenced by AI driven tools.

Former Andhra University Rector A. Prasanna Kumar presided over the meeting. D. S. Varma, Secretary of VPLS and CPS, and eminent academicians including Dr. K. Venkateswarlu, Prof. K. C. Reddy, Dr. Madhu Kumar and Prof. Nirupa Rani were present.
