The State Cabinet has approved the formation of a new society for the functioning of the Elephant Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre at Kottoor in Thiruvananthapuram. The society will be constituted under the Kerala Societies Registration Act, 2025, in the name of ‘The Kottoor Elephant Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre Society (KER & RCS)’. The Cabinet also approved the draft Memorandum of Association, and the Rules and Regulations for the formation of the society. The Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF) and Chief Wildlife Warden has been entrusted with the responsibility of registering the society.
