Hyderabad PR and RD Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) released a book, “Goddess of Folk”, on Medaram Jatara on Friday. The book is being brought out by the Kakatiya Heritage Trust. Eminent filmmaker B. Narsing Rao, who compiled the book with rare photographs, and members of the Trust — retired IAS officers B.P. Acharya and B.V. Papa Rao, former NIT professor Panduranga Rao, and K. Sridhar and former DGP M. Ratan — were among those who attended. Ms. Seethakka called for the necessary proposal for recognition of Samakka Saralamma Jatara as a World Heritage by UNESCO.
