A 48-year-old man, who was hit by a bull in a manjuvirattu event held in Salem died on Thursday evening. The event was held as part of the local Mariamman temple festival in Muthunaickenpatti, near Omalur. A. Senthil, a resident of the same locality and a weaver who came to attend the event, was hit by a bull which entered the area where the crowd was witnessing the event. In the attack, he fainted and was taken to Omalur Government Hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The Omalur police registered a case and are investigating further.
