Thoothukudi Member of Parliament K. Kanimozhi on Friday reiterated that DMK-Congress alliance is a long-standing and stable partnership that has endured for many years and there is no possibility for any changes in it. Addressing the media persons in Thoothukudi, she said that the leader of Opposition (referring to Edappadi K. Palaniswami) is the one who mortgaged the State. “The DMK’s fundamental ideology is State autonomy in the State and federalism in the Centre, which he (referring to Mr. Palaniswami) may not be aware of,” she noted. To a query on BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran staging a walkout in the Assembly over his allegation that the interim budget contained no future schemes, she explained that generally no major announcements are made in the interim budget. “However, if he reads it properly, several important aspects beneficial for the youth, sports sector and various other sectors have been mentioned in it. Staging a political drama merely for the sake of a walkout is not appropriate,” Ms. Kanimozhi added.
