Vitamin ‘A’ drops will be administered to children between the age of 6 months and 5 years from February 23 to 28. According to District Collector R. Sukumar, the personnel attached to the Department of Public Health will administer Vitamin ‘A’ drops to 1,07,537 children between the age of 6 months and 5 years in the district during this drive to save them from blindness and certain serious infections and ensure proper physical and psychological health. “The Vitamin ‘A’ drops that will not cause any adverse side effect will be administered by qualified nurses of the Department of Public Health in all health sub-centres. Hence, the parents should make use of this opportunity,” Dr. Sukumar said. In Tenkasi district, 88,690 children will be covered during this drive, Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore said.
