Addressing a press conference, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said: “In West Bengal, we see how jungle raj is flourishing throughout under the patronage of Mamata Banerjee. Law and order have collapsed and she is unconcerned.” ‘Constitutional violation’ “A Chief Minister, who takes an oath to uphold the Constitution, threatens the Home Minister of India. She says ‘if I do not want it, the Home Minister of India cannot enter West Bengal’,” he alleged, adding that it was a “violation” of Article 19 of the Constitution. “And she says ‘if I want, he cannot even come out of his hotel room. This means if a citizen, exercising their constitutional rights, wants to go and communicate and interact with the people, if the Home Minister of the country wants to go, you are threatening him,” he said. “What is ‘jungle raj’, ‘maha jungle raj’, ‘goonda raj’ like? It is exactly like Mamata Banerjee…where she feels that the Rohingya, who are infiltrators, are her vote bank. She wants to maintain a relationship with them, but she uses abusive language against India’s Home Minister,” alleged Mr. Bhatia. “And since we are talking about West Bengal, and I mentioned the baseless allegations of vote theft that Rahul Gandhi repeatedly makes after losing elections. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is a respected leader of the Congress. He was the Leader of the Opposition. He says that in West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee does not steal votes, she commits vote dacoity,” he said.
