Entrance test schedule for A.P. model school admission released

The Department of School Education on Thursday released a tentative schedule for the entrance test to be held for admissions in Class VI in 164 Model Schools in Andhra Pradesh for the 2026-27 academic year.

The examination fee should be paid on February 23, while the online application will be accepted on February 24. The last date for fee payment is March 31 and the examination will be held at school on April 12.

The merit list will be prepared on April 27 and the selection list will be published on the same day (April 27, 2026). The certification verification and counselling will be held on April 30. The classes will commence in June, 2026.

Director of School Education V. Vijaya Rama Raju has asked the Regional Joint Director, District Education Officers (DEOs) and all the Principals of A.P. Model Schools to contribute their mite in ensuring full enrollment.

He said services of Post-Graduate Teachers and Trained Graduate Teachers may be utilised before visiting the villages where primary schools are located in the catchment area of the model schools and explain to the parents the advantages of model schools, which include free education, books, uniform and food besides good infrastructure facilities, library and laboratory facilities and academic enrichment programmes.
