Puducherry hospital completes 50 renal transplants

East Coast Hospitals, Puducherry, has completed 50 kidney transplant surgeries.

N Murugesan, chairman, told the media that the hospital’s transplant programme has benefited patients not only from Puducherry but also from neighbouring regions of Tamil Nadu, significantly reducing the need for patients to travel far for high-cost transplant procedures.

All kidney transplant procedures at East Coast Hospitals are performed in strict adherence to the guidelines of the NOTTO (National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation) and SOTTO (State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation), ensuring ethical practices, transparent donor evaluation, and the highest standards of patient safety.

The 150-bedded multi-specialty tertiary care institution is heavily invested in kidney care, on the back of 24/7 emergency ICU and other advanced medical services, he said.
