Police with the two men convicted of transporting 850 kilograms of dry ganja, in Sangareddy, on Thursday. Two individuals, who were earlier arrested while transporting 850 kilograms of dry ganja, were sentenced to undergo 20 years of rigorous imprisonment each by a court in Sangareddy on Thursday. The court also slapped a fine of ₹2 lakh each. The accused were ientified as Jadav Bansilal alias Rathod Bansilal and Rathod Shankar, both residents of Chilapally thanda in Jharasangam mandal of Sangareddy district. According to officials, the duo was arrested for illegal possession and transportation of 850 kilograms of dry ganja, which was seized during a route watch conducted by the Anti-Corruption Enforcement Medak team. They were booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The investigation was carried out and the charge sheet filed by M. Subramanyam, Prohibition and Excise Inspector and Station House Officer of the Prohibition and Excise Station, Andole. Officials stated that the coordinated efforts of the enforcement team and prosecution resulted in the conviction of the accused.
