Three persons from Kerala sustained injuries in an accident in Salem on Thursday.

The injured were identified as Shasan (46), Akshaya (24), and Suraj (33).

According to the police, a tipper lorry that was loaded with M-Sand was headed to Chidambaram from Salem in the early hours of Thursday. While the lorry reached Pudhupatti near Vazhapadi on the Salem-Chennai National Highway, a car that came behind rammed into the lorry.

In the accident, Shasan, Akshaya and Suraj, who were in the car sustained injuries and were admitted to Salem Government Hospital. Due to the accident, traffic movement was affected in the locality for nearly an hour. The Vazhapadi police registered a case and are investigating further.
