Chairman of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh A. Ravi Naidu will attend the inaugural session of the three-day South Zone All India Inter-University Men’s Badminton Tournament to be held at KL Deemed to be University on January 3. Vice-Chancellor G. Parthasaradhi Varma said around 900 players from 128 universities across different States of the country would take part in the tournament. Director of Sports K. Harikishore said the matches would be conducted at an international-standard indoor stadium equipped with all necessary facilities. The organisers said the university had made comprehensive arrangements for accommodation, food and medical facilities for the participants. They expressed hope that the tournament would promote sporting spirit among youth and help identify talented players at the national level.
