Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Telangana branch, has strongly condemned the Telangana Government and police for trying to impose “undeclared restrictions” on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti celebrations, proposed to be held in many places on Thursday (February 19, 2026), on the pretext of the start of Ramzan. Stating that restrictions on such celebrations will not be ‘tolerated’, the organisation called upon the Hindu youth to celebrate the birthday grandly. The VHP also questioned why the government does not issue similar exemptions to employees and business houses for Hindu festivals, said a press release.
