A couple, hailing from West Bengal, employed as domestic help at a businessman’s residence in Sadashivanagar, was suspected to have run away with valuables worth ₹1.37 crore. Shahir and his wife, Hajira Begum, were working at the house between 2022 and 2024, and had left the work later. They rejoined on December 27, 2025. On December 30, the businessman and his family went to Coimbatore to celebrate the New Year. They had given the house key to Begum to give it to their relative who lived nearby. When they realised that Begum had not given the key even by late evening, the family grew suspicious. They sent their car driver to check, who found the wardrobes open and items kept inside were robbed, and the couple missing. Sources said the missing valuables include gold ornaments and luxury watches.
