Photo: Facebook/Sudhakar Singh Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP from Buxar, Sudhakar Singh, has written to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, urging the State government to immediately disassociate all relations with Bill Gates and his organization citing concerns linked to the Epstein scandal in the United States. In a letter sent on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) and available in the public domain on Wednesday (February 18, 2026), Mr. Singh said that the name of Bill Gates, owner of Microsoft and chairman of the Bill Gates & Melinda Gates Foundation, has appeared in the Epstein Files. “Documents released by the U.S. government’s Justice Department detail Bill Gates’ relationship with Jeffrey. In this regard, his ex-wife and former Gates Foundation coordinator, Melinda Gates, has expressed embarrassment and regret,” Mr. Singh wrote in the letter. He pointed out that protests are being raised worldwide against individuals associated with Epstein, and they are being excluded from public interest institutions and programmes. “As a Member of Parliament from the state of Bihar, I was surprised to learn that Bill Gates’s organization, the Gates Foundation, is working with the Bihar government on many policy matters, both officially and, in some cases, unofficially,”Mr. Singh stated in the letter. He further said, “It has also come to light that individuals appointed by the Gates Foundation are working as assistants to several senior IAS officers and departments of the Bihar government. They are paid salaries of lakhs of rupees per month by the Gates Foundation and have easy access to information on key policy decisions and plans related to various departments of the Bihar government.” He asserted that the deployment of individuals appointed by a foreign organization in the offices and departments raises questions about the policy sovereignty of Bihar and the country. “The Gates Foundation has a partnership with the Bihar government on several policy aspects, but there is no clarity on its underlying purpose. The purpose of the Gates Foundation-sponsored Center for Health and Agriculture Policy in Patna and why information on state policy matters and plans is being shared with the Gates Foundation is a major question,”Mr. Singh stated. He cautioned that the Chairman of the Gates Foundation himself is under scrutiny for his involvement in the Epstein Files and sexual abuse allegations, it would be appropriate for the Bihar government to immediately distance itself from Bill Gates’s organization, the Gates Foundation, and also from the Center for Health and Agricultural Policy run by him. Mr. Singh also demanded that a thorough investigation should be conducted on the senior IAS officers with whom the Gates Foundation has appointed assistants, who are paid lakhs of rupees. He asked questions if Gates Foundation representatives are working with senior IAS officers in Bihar, it should be clear what is the legal basis for their appointment? “Was this done through a transparent process under an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding)? Are there adequate safeguards for the sharing of sensitive policy information? Is this having any adverse impact on the state government’s sovereign policy-making process?”Mr. Singh asked. “The involvement of an organization of a sexual exploiter in policy decisions related to the daughters of Bihar can never be accepted,”Mr. Singh said in the letter.
