The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, in association with Vellore chapter of Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), organised GST 2.0 Summit on its campus in Vellore on Wednesday.

According to a press release, the summit titled ‘Navigating Compliances and Empowering Growth’, was aimed at creating awareness about recent developments in Goods and Services Tax (GST) and promoting sound compliance practices among students, professionals, and industry representatives.

More than 100 industry professionals and 1,100 students in Vellore and surrounding districts participated. The summit served as a powerhouse of insights, connecting students with domain experts and strengthening Vellore’s academic and industrial ecosystem.

The event was inaugurated by P. Rajendra Kumar, Chairman, GST and Indirect Taxes Committee, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi, in the presence of D. P. Suresh, Assistant Commissioner, GST and Central Excise, ICAI (Vellore).

Special sessions were also conducted on career opportunities in taxation and finance, offering students practical exposure to professional pathways in indirect taxation, the release said.
