The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has questioned the “mysterious disappearance” of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son and HRD Minister N. Lokesh.

“Their whereabouts have been unknown for the past four days,” alleged party spokesperson Karumuri Venkata Reddy while addressing the media at Tadepalli on Thursday.

The government machinery failed to give clarity on the foreign travel of the Chief Minister and the Minister, he alleged, and demanded that the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police reveal the location and travel details of the two leaders.

Mr. Reddy alleged that despite holding highest constitutional and executive positions, both the leaders were maintaining secrecy over their foreign visits.

Accusing the NDA government of imposing a debt burden of ₹2.93 lakh crore on the State in a year of coming to power, he alleged that frequent foreign trips by the two leaders were “aimed at diverting public money and stashing wealth abroad through benami channels.”

Mr. Reddy alleged that Mr. Naidu travels abroad once in every three months and Mr. Lokesh once in every two months, often using special chartered flights. He further alleged that the government had become a centre of corruption and lawlessness. Referring to the Srikalahasti case, he said the murder of a driver exposed the internal power struggles between coalition partners.
