A bomb-threat email sent to the CBI court in Nampally, Hyderabad, triggered intensive searches and evacuation of the premises on Wednesday (February 18). The threat was later declared a hoax. The court staffers logged into the official email and noticed the threats. Following the alert, judges, court staff, lawyers and litigants were evacuated from the building as a precautionary measure. Police teams immediately secured the area and began thorough checks of the premises. Bomb disposal and dog squads were deployed to comb the court complex. Officials from the Nampally police said the search operation was carried out in accordance with standard protocol, and no suspicious material was found. Police confirmed that the email threat turned out to be a hoax. Similar threatening emails were also reportedly sent to District Courts as well. A case was registered and further investigation is under way to trace the source of the email.
