The government on Friday (January 2) gave its permission to A.P. Airports Development Corporation Limited (APADCL) to acquire 418.14 acres at Damavaram village of Nellore district on perpetual lease for the development of the proposed Dagadarthi greenfield airport by paying a compensation of ₹13 lakh per acre. Special Chief Secretary (Infrastructure & Investment – Airports) M.T. Krishna Babu,the chairperson of the Negotiation Committee and Joint Collector of Nellore District had submitted a proposal to the government, seeking approval for the above compensation rate as recommended by the Kavali RDO. Accordingly, the rate was approved, and the District Collector has asked for the government’s clearance to proceed with the payment of compensation.
