A 26-year-old man died after his vehicle crashed into a parked mini-truck near Maduravoyal on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) night. A senior official from the Avadi Police Commissionerate said the deceased, Sasikumar, was a resident of Alapakkam and was returning home via Vanagaram on the Outer Ring Road on his two-wheeler around 10 p.m. He did not notice the mini-truck, which was parked unauthorisedly without the mandatory warning sign, and crashed into it. Sasikumar suffered severe head injuries and was killed on the spot. The Maduravoyal Traffic Investigation police, on being alerted, sent the body to Government Kilpauk Medical College hospital for a postmortem examination. Later, the police arrested Marudamuthu, 65, of Vyasarpadi, who was the driver of the parked vehicle, for causing the accident.
