AP MedTech Zone hosted an industry-academia meet to mark eight years of its Innovation and Biomedical Skill Centre (IBSC). In the past eight years, IBSC has trained and certified over 10,000 candidates, fueling India’s biomedical and medical device workforce growth. It now offers more than 65 skill programmes—accredited by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship—for students, faculty, professionals, and manufacturers. AP MedTech Zone MD & Founder CEO Jitendra Sharma said universities produce domain experts, whom IBSC integrates into medical technology. “Without academia, there’s no MedTech revolution,” he added. “As healthcare challenges persist, demand for skilled biomedical professionals will rise in this dynamic sector.” On February 16, IBSC signed MoUs with 72 institutions to deepen academic ties. These pave the way for industrial training, industry-oriented courses, visits, faculty development, semester exchanges, joint degrees, workshops, and conferences—bridging academia and MedTech. The centre has now partnered with over 133 universities and institutions nationwide.
