Suresh, former personal assistant to the legendary Communist leader V.S. Achuthanandan, said here on Tuesday that he would not fight the leader’s son if he contested the Assembly elections from Malampuzha. Amid rumours that Mr. Suresh would contest in the United Democratic Front (UDF) banner from Malampuzha after he was expelled from the CPI(M) for alleged anti-party work, he said here that he would reconsider his decision if Achuthanandan’s son contested from Malampuzha. Mr. Suresh said that CPI(M) State secretary M.V. Govindan hurt him by saying that he had engaged in anti-party activities. “What did I do? I never worked against the party,” he said. He attended the Puthuyuga Yatra being led by Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan.
