Seeking improved drinking water supply and repair of damaged roads in their areas, residents submitted a petition to Deputy Mayor K.R. Raju during the weekly grievances redress meet held at the Corporation on Tuesday.

Residents of Selva Vignesh Nagar under ward 1 in Thatchanallur Zone submitted a petition seeking the construction of an overhead tank in their area to streamline drinking water supply to the 500-odd families in this area.

They sought repair of damaged play equipment at the Selva Vignesh Nagar children’s park and the installation of street lights in their area.

A group of residents from Sripuram near Corporation’s administrative office submitted petition seeking regular supply of drinking water while the residents of Thirumangai Nagar under ward 18 in Pettai submitted sought new drinking water distribution pipes to replace the damaged ones.

A group of residents from BBC Colony on South Bypass submitted a petition appealing to the Corporation to relay the roads dug for the underground drainage project. Even though laying of pipes for the underground drainage project was completed 18 months ago, the road was not relaid.

The Thamizhaga Makkal Jananayaga Katchi submitted a petition seeking bus shelter near Melapalayam shandy traffic island as the passengers have to wait under the scorching sun for the buses.

Residents of Sri Nagar Extension areas near Thatchanallur submitted a petition seeking road, drinking water, and street lights.
