The head pontiff of Mantralayam Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Sri Subudhendra Theertha Sripada, expressed deep anguish over reports that adulterated ghee was allegedly used in the preparation of the Tirumala laddu prasadam. In a letter addressed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the seer condemned the reported incident, stating that the use of adulterated ingredients in the sacred laddu offered to Lord Venkateswara in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams had deeply hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees. He termed the act “unpardonable,” noting that the laddu prasadam was regarded as sacred by crores of Hindus across the world. The seer called for an impartial inquiry into the matter, and demanded that those responsible for supplying adulterated ghee be brought to justice in accordance with the law. He stressed the need to safeguard the religious sentiments of millions of devotees and uphold the values of Sanatana Hindu Dharma.
