At least five youths were seriously injured in a clash between two groups at Pithapuram town in Kakinada district on Tuesday. The injured have been identified as S. Akash, M. Naga Suresh, P. Ashok, M. Rajesh and G. Rambabu. Mr. Akash and Mr. Naga Suresh belong to one of the groups involved in the incident. In an official release, Pithapuram Circle Inspector Manikumar said that on February 16, Akash had an argument with A. Siva, a corn vendor, over a vending spot. On Tuesday, friends of both men gathered in support of them and engaged in a clash, attacking each other with knives and sticks. All the injured were shifted to the Government General Hospital in Kakinada. Doctors said their condition is out of danger. The police have registered cases against members of both groups and investigation is under way.
