Poornachandra Kumar The nine-day annual Brahmotsavams at the TTD-run Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple concluded with ‘Trisula Snanam’ on Tuesday (February 17, 2026). A celestial bath with milk, holy water, and allied products was performed to the idol of trident, in accordance with the Shaiva Agama (doctrine of temple worship). Rituals like ‘Poornahuthi’ and ‘Kalasabhishekam’ were also performed to the presiding deity (Moolavarlu) inside the sanctum sanctorum. Earlier, the deity of Nataraja was taken in a grand procession on “Surya Prabha Vahanam” up to Anna Rao Circle in the city and back to the temple. In the evening, “Dhwajavarohanam” was performed, during which the sacred flag hoisted atop the temple flag post was brought down, marking the conclusion of the grand festival. “Ravanasura Vahanam” was performed late in the evening.
