Submitting the suggestions to the Chief Minister, KCCI president G.K. Adappagowda urged the State government to focus on the holistic development of North Karnataka with focus on the twin cities.

He presented proposals to promote trade and commerce, seeking support from the State government for pending major railway projects and introducing reforms related to APMC markets.

He also sought the establishment of a manufacturing city on the lines of Bengaluru’s Electronic City, a special tourism development package for North Karnataka and made policy suggestions related to GST.

KCCI vice-presidents S.G. Kammar and Veeranna Kallur, honorary secretary Uday Revankar and joint honorary secretary Prakash Sringeri took part in the meeting

The suggestions

KCCI has sought ₹5 crore grants to organise an industrial exhibition, INCOMEX-2026, in the twin-city region. It urged the State government to expedite the land acquisition process for pending railway projects, including the Dharwad-Belagavi, Gadag-Yalavigi, Davangere-Tumakuru and Hubballi-Ankola lines, and to survey a new line from Annigeri to Yallammanagar.

KCCI has also sought a ₹500-crore package to develop the Amargol APMC Yard and requested reforms such as abolition of Form-35B, installation of Wi-Fi and CCTV, simplified e-property procedures and better facilities for farmers.

It called for a special industrial package and an effective “Beyond Bengaluru” strategy to promote industries across North Karnataka.

To encourage entrepreneurship, it sought development of industrial plots at Itigatti and Gamanagatti, improved infrastructure and tax relief in industrial estates and reduced land prices in the Mammigatti cluster.

The Chamber also demanded consultation before fixing minimum wages under the new labour code, reduction of stamp duty on business loans and development of Bagalkot as a tourism hub along with approval of the proposed ₹632-crore Bagalkot Mega Market project.
