An anonymous email issuing bomb threat triggered panic on the premises of the courts in Palayamkottai, Thoothukudi, and Nagercoil on Tuesday. Following the threat, the bomb detection and disposal squad checked the court complex in Palayamkottai with sniffer dog and the gadgets that proved it to be a hoax. Similar threats issued to the courts in Thoothukudi and Nagercoil kept the police on tenterhooks for a while. Normalcy returned after the search by the police did not detected any explosive. Police have intensified security in and around the court complexes and are checking the litigants coming to the courts.
