BJP leader condemns ‘attack’ on Gali Janardhan Reddy in Karnataka

BJP National Council member Y.S. Vishnuvardhan Reddy on Friday condemned the alleged attempt on the life of senior party leader and Karnataka MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy.

Calling it a blot on democracy, Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy said in a post on X that the law and order situation in that State had turned alarming under the Congress government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He accused certain Congress leaders of resorting to violence. “Such incidents are shameful in a democracy. If political leaders indulge in violence, how can the safety of ordinary citizens be ensured?” he questioned.

Mr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy said repeated incidents of violence indicated the failure of the Congress government. The Siddaramaiah-led government was pushing Karnataka into chaos and destroying a State that once stood as a model for governance, he said, and demanded action against those responsible for the attack.
