Sridhar Babu has said that the Telangana Government is actively supporting and facilitating private entrepreneurs to set up agro-based and soya-based processing units through various incentive schemes and policy interventions. The Government is implementing schemes like Telangana–IDEA (Industrial Development & Entrepreneurs Advancement), T-FAPP (Telangana Food Processing & Preservation Policy), Telangana MSME policy and credit-linked subsidy and assistance under the PMFME scheme in this direction. These schemes provided financial incentives, infrastructure support, and handholding assistance to promote value-added food processing and agro-based enterprises by private players. The Minister was replying to a query raised by Congress member T. Laxmikantha Rao during the Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly on Friday (January 2, 2026). He said there was currently no proposal to establish a Government-owned soya-based agro processing unit at Jukkal. But it would encourage private entrepreneurs to set up such units under the existing policy framework and avail incentives under the applicable State and Central Government schemes. The Government continued to promote employment generation, processing infrastructure and value addition to farmers through private sector participation.
