President of India Droupadi Murmu. File

President of India Droupadi Murmu will arrive in the city on Tuesday evening (February 17), on a two-day visit to take part in the International Fleet Review.

The President is scheduled to land at the Naval Air Station INS Dega at 4:40 p.m. Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and senior Indian Navy officials will receive her at the airport.

Later, Ms. Murmu will proceed to the Naval Base to attend a banquet hosted in her honour.

On February 18, the President, in her capacity as Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, will review the third International Fleet Review being held at the Anchorage Area off Visakhapatnam. She will be accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour before embarking on the Presidential Yacht.

This will be followed by a 21 gun salute. Thereafter, the President, on board the Presidential Yacht, will steam past the fleet of ships anchored from various Commands of the Indian Navy, along with vessels of the Indian Coast Guard and the Merchant Marine.

In addition to the anchored ships, a column of warships and submarines will sail past the Presidential column. A flypast by naval aircraft is also scheduled. About 70 ships from 50 countries are expected to participate in the review.

The President will return to Delhi later in the afternoon.
